Q: Are there any rules to being an Agorist?

A: This depends upon what one considers a “rule.” In the sense that there are union-type dues, Agorist charters, or other common community type requirements for entry into a club, no, as a grass roots movement focusing on decentralized, direct action Agorists are largely left to their own devices with whom they are going to associate with and to what level they desire to seek help or give it.

If, however, one defines “rules” as a set of guidelines one must follow in order to objectively consider oneself an Agorist, then yes like everything standard requirements exist as parameters for defining purposes. One would not call a cat a dog, and likewise one would not call a statist an Agorist.

To be an Agorist, one must actually follow Agorist guidelines adhering to libertarian principles along the lines of non-aggression and self-ownership. Similarly, as an Agorist one must act within the black and grey markets but avoid at all costs the red markets, or markets that involve coercion and statist aggression.
